Cabbage is a very basic and simple vegetable. A lot of people even consider it to be bland. But if made well with proper spices added, cabbage can be enjoyed by every one , well, almost everyone! Make cabbage our way and your family will love it.
Shred the cabbage thin
Finely slice onions
Heat a pan. Add oil
She the oil is hot add turmeric powder followed by shredded canbage. Mix well.
Cover and cook cabbage until it is soft
Set it aside.
Heat oil in a pan
When the oil is hot add in mustard seeds
When they crackle add in urad dal red chillies broken and jeera or cumin seeds
Add in sliced onions and Saute until they turn translucent. Next add in green chillies and Saute these
Now add in curry leaves
Stir for a few seconds
Add in turmeric powder and red chilli powder
Add on tomatoes
Mix well and stir
Add in garlic cloves
Add coriander powder and aamchoor or dry mango powder
Add in the cabbage that we stir fried.
Mix well and stir until the masala gets incorporated in the cabbage. This will take about 5 to 7 minutes.
Switch off flame
Serve yummy cabbage stir fry with rotis or rice and dal or Sambar or rice

2 onions 150 grams
3 tomatoes 300 grams chopped
Ginger 1 inch piece
Green chillies 2 finely chopped
Garlic 4 big pieces chopped
Oil 2 tbsp plus 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1 tsp
Urad dal 1 tsp
Red chillies 2 broken
Cumin seeds/ jeera 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves 2 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder 1 tsp
Coriander / dhaniya powder 2tsp
Aamchoor/ Dry mango powder 1 tsp
